Welcome to the National Correa Collection Website.
This site is meant to be an identification resource for gardeners, nursery people and researchers.
There are three gallery pages organised alphabetically.
While the collection illustrated is extensive there are other varieties not pictured. These varieties have been lost over the years or were unreliable in cultivation. Sometimes varieties which were lost for years re-surface in a garden, e.g., C. alba x 'Gwen'
The naming of Correas has presented many difficulties with the same varieties receiving three or more names leading to utter confusion for gardeners and enthusiasts.
New names should only be applied to known seedlings which have been trialled.
Some of these seedlings such as 'Federation Belle' have now become popular commercial varieties.
Many of the Bywong Correas are PBR protected and it is illegal to propagate them for sale.
Plants collected from the wild should be named after the locality as a way to distinguish them, e.g., C. alba Wynyard
